Ok, I’m throwing it back to another party! This one is near and dear to my heart…my best friend got married!! So, we planned the ultimate shower – a girls and guys “I Do” BBQ, and it rocked! Here are some of my favorite details!
Detail #1 – The Invite – It started out with a great invite, of course. I always spend hours looking at invitations, because I think it’s so fun. I found this great option on Etsy and customized it to my liking. This isn’t my beautiful bride and groom, just the sample invite from the designer.
Detail #2 – The Party Favor – The party favor is always my favorite. I love having a token that the guests can take with to enjoy and remember the party. I made individual spice rub packets for everyone, with an awesome chalkboard sign, keeping with the theme!
* Tip – hand out favors in the beginning or during the party – you don’t want to be left with all your great favors.
Detail #3 – Guest Book – I think it’s important at big life events to have a way to look back and remember who was with you at that time. There are so many creative ways to have people share something or sign something for a great keepsake. We did cute advice and date jars for the future Mr. & Mrs. They now have this keepsake displayed on a shelf in their first home – How sweet!
Detail #4 – Game Time – Once guests shared their advice and picked up a favor, there was time for mingling and relaxing. Then, we did some games! My favorite game of the day was “Who Is?” I faced the bride and groom back-to-back, gave them each a mustache and lips, and I asked them questions about their relationship. Let’s just say this was the fan favorite of the day! Here’s a link to the free mustache and lip printables. Keep reading for a free printable of the questions I used for this game.
Detail #5 – Photo Booth – Another favorite feature of the party was our photo booth areas. The groom is an amazing furniture designer and owner of Rustik Rehab – check out his work here! He made me 3 wooden photo frames, and they were painted in the wedding colors. We hung them in different areas, set out photo props, and people had a blast taking photos.
Detail #6 – S’Mores – At the dessert table, I had individually wrapped s’mores for the guests to either eat there or take as another favor. I also made a chalkboard sign for this area too.
All the details of this party came together perfectly! Best detail of all? The bride and groom got married a month later, and are currently enjoying all the happiness that marriage brings!
