Welcome to another edition of Fun Detail Friday, where I share a tip or detail that makes my world a little better, and hopefully can make yours better too. My ultimate goal of Fun Detail Friday is to get us all to appreciate the little things in life – the things we do that save us time, or help the day go smoother, or even just make us a little happier. This week’s Fun Detail Friday is all about baby milestones. I know with O (my first baby), I tried to be diligent about writing down all her firsts – first smile, first time she rolled, first tooth, etc. Sometimes I would remember to jot it down in my phone, or I’d take a picture and hope that I remembered that the picture I took related to a specific milestone. It worked ok, but I’ve found a better method with A (baby #2). I know there are apps out there that do this, too, but for some things, I’m more of a traditionalist.
To record milestones for my children, I simply use my calendar. Every time a milestone event happens, I record it right on the calendar.
And the best part about it? I love looking back when it’s time to write in the baby book. I love seeing the handwritten notes I wrote about each important event. When the whole year is over, I can look back and see all the events, and it’s a wonderful trip down memory lane. I love how tangible it is!
It’s just a little detail! What’s yours Fun Detail Friday? How do you record your baby’s milestones? Comment below!
