So, this is my first blog post ever! I’m so excited to share my love for the little details through this blog. Whether it be the details of my home or my family, or even the latest party I’ve thrown, I hope to excite you and help you focus on the little details, too.
I hope that through this blog you can find some tips and tricks for celebrating and embracing the details of everyday life and special occasions. When the details are just right, it makes life even better! I’m excited to take this new step, and I’m thrilled if you would join me on this journey…
“Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens…these are a few of my favorite things.” You have to know that song from the movie “Sound of Music,” right? All those little things bring joy, which completely describes how I feel when I get the details just right.
Do you ever stop to think about the little things that you love? I guess a great place to start would be to tell you a few of my favorite details…
I love a sharpened pencil when I’m writing notes. I love finding the perfect container or basket for a home organization project. I like the address labels on my Christmas cards to be “christmasy,” and the address labels on birthday invites to be “birthdayish.” I like when the party favor perfectly matches the theme of a party, or the DIY centerpieces turn out amazing. It’s these little things that excite me!
I’ve always had a thorough attention to detail, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve used this strength in all the avenues of my life. It’s thrilling when a small thing manages to affect someone else in a big way. When my husband and I were first dating, I always used to tell him that it’s the little things that matter. I don’t need huge, extravagant things (ok, I admit, I do love diamonds!), but really it’s the sweet words in a card or a hug on a really tough day. It’s the laughter and the smiles and the memories. These are the little details.
So, come along with me. I’m jumping for joy! I’m going to fill this space with so many details! Comments, questions, and your details are welcome, too – But please be kind. This is a happy space for me and hopefully a place you come back to often. I’ll be here!
